How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the five competencies of the NYSTCE Field 201: Educating All Students (EAS) Test Design and Framework, March 2014, authorized for distribution by the New York State Education Department (https://www.nystce.nesinc.com/content/docs/NY201_OBJ_FINAL.pdf, read 2026-10-10): Diverse Student Populations 11 selected-response items, English Language Learners 11, Students with Disabilities and Other Special Learning Needs 10, Teacher Responsibilities 5, School-Home Relationships 5. The bank holds the same 42 in the same numbers. What the real test asks
The framework of March 2014 gives selected-response items 70% of the score and three written responses 30%, in 135 minutes of testing. On the real test each written response shares a scenario with several selected-response items. This page does not mark writing.
EAS practice test questions by competency
Eleven questions each on diverse student populations and English Language Learners, ten on students with disabilities, five on teacher responsibilities and five on school-home relationships. Each answer names the regulation, court opinion or publication it was checked against.
Timing here
Exam mode asks all 42 in 105 minutes, the time the framework allows for the selected-response items.
Twelve answers rest on New York sources, among them Parts 154 and 200, the Education Law on attendance, suspension and bullying, and State publications.
Questions and answers
Is there a free NYSTCE EAS practice test?
Yes, this one. All 42 questions are free with no sign-up, and your answers stay in your browser. They are our own questions and not New York's.
Can I get an EAS practice test PDF free?
Yes. After a round, the Print button puts the questions on paper, with the answer key if you tick it, and the print window saves the sheet as a PDF at no charge.
How many questions are on the EAS exam?
The test's own page lists 40 selected-response items and 3 constructed-response items. The framework of March 2014 plans about 42 selected-response items, and this EAS exam practice test follows the framework.
What score do you need to pass the EAS?
The test's own page gives a passing score of 520. That is a scaled score and not a count of right answers, so this page shows your number right and no pass verdict.
Are these real EAS questions?
No. Every question is our own, written to New York's Test Design and Framework of March 2014. None is copied or reworded from the real test or from the sample questions in its preparation materials.
