How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the competency list of the Job Ready Credential Blueprint for Production Agriculture (code 3063, version 01, copyright 2011) that NOCTI publishes at https://www.nocti.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/JRProdAg3063.pdf , read 2026-10-16: a written assessment of 187 questions in 3 hours over six areas (Animal Science 29%; Conservation and Sustainable Natural Resources 6%; Plant Science 21%; Soil Management 6%; Agricultural Technology 14%; Agri-Business 24%), plus a performance assessment of six jobs. This bank holds 50 in those proportions. Every fact was read on 2026-10-16 on the public page named under its question: OSHA's agriculture standards in 29 CFR Part 1928, the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service and Farm Service Agency, the Internal Revenue Service, the NC State Extension Gardener Handbook and Wikipedia. The seven computed answers were worked twice. Licence: Questions, choices and explanations are original work of this site.

Six areas, livestock first

Animal Science is 29% of the written assessment, Agri-Business 24% and Plant Science 21%. Agricultural Technology is 14%, and Soil Management and Conservation and Sustainable Natural Resources are 6% each. The 50 questions here split 15, 12, 10, 7, 3 and 3.

Timed like the written test

Forty-eight minutes for 50 questions matches the pace of the written assessment. A round closes on the number right in each area, since blueprint 3063 names no passing score.

Six jobs in the shop and the barn

The performance jobs are not practiced here: vehicle maintenance, a net worth statement, a Punnett square, crop leaf identification, an injection and computing acreage.

  • An acre is 43,560 square feet: multiply length by width in feet, then divide.
  • Fertilizer to spread is the pounds of nutrient needed divided by its percentage on the bag.
  • A hundredweight (cwt) is 100 pounds, so a 600-pound calf is 6 cwt.
