Four domains, in the blueprint's shares
The 50 questions split 9, 13, 16 and 12 across advocacy, mentoring, recovery support and professional responsibilities: half of each domain's count in the Board's detailed exam blueprint, to the nearest question (read October 12, 2026). Each of the blueprint's 30 competencies has at least one question.
Half the exam on the clock
Exam mode gives 50 questions in 60 minutes at the Board's 70% pass mark: the real exam's pace, at half its length.
The peer role and where it stops
The questions are on supporting a person's own goals, sharing a recovery story, warm handoffs, stages of change, boundaries, 42 CFR part 2 and Florida's abuse reporting laws. Each answer links to the SAMHSA publication, federal rule or statute it was written from.

Questions and answers
Is this a free Certified Recovery Peer Specialist practice test?
Yes. All 50 questions are free, with no account. The Florida Certification Board's own online CRPS Exam Preparation Course costs $40; it is separate, and no question here is taken from it.
How many questions are on the CRPS exam?
It has 100 multiple-choice questions and a two-hour time limit, by the Florida Certification Board's exam score list of May 1, 2025. Recovery support is the largest of the four domains, with 33 of the 100 questions.
What is the passing score for the CRPS exam?
Passing takes 70%, with all questions weighted equally. At the test site an unofficial score shows as soon as you finish, and official scores are processed weekly. A retest needs a 30-day wait and the exam and proctoring fees again.
Does the real CRPS exam have four answer choices?
No. The Board writes each question with three options: one correct and two plausible but incorrect. The questions here have four, so each one leaves you one more wrong answer to rule out.
Is the Certified Recovery Peer Specialist credential the same in every state?
No. Certified Recovery Peer Specialist is the Florida Certification Board's credential. Other states certify peer workers under their own titles and exams; SAMHSA lists recovery coach, peer provider and peer navigator among the names in use.
