Questions and answers
How many questions are on the ASE B6 test?
ASE's 2026 Collision study guide lists 60 questions in 75 minutes: 50 scored and 10 that are not counted. The recertification test is 25 questions in 30 minutes.
Is there an official ASE B6 study guide?
Yes. ASE's free Collision Repair and Refinish Study Guide covers tests B2 to B6. Its B6 pages hold the test specifications, the task list and six sample questions. None of those questions is used here.
Does B6 count toward Master Collision Repair and Refinish Technician?
No. ASE's study guide marks B2, B3, B4 and B5 as required for that recognition. B6 is a certification of its own for damage estimators.
What work experience does ASE B6 certification require?
ASE's B6 page asks for a passed test and proof of two years of work experience specifically related to damage analysis and estimating. Hands-on collision repair does not count toward it.
