The two question kinds
ETS's sample questions for Section 2, read October 9, 2026, describe two kinds. Structure: choose the word or phrase that completes a sentence. Written Expression: find the one marked part that must be changed. This bank holds 30 of each.
Count and time
ETS's test content page gives the section 40 questions in 25 minutes on Level 1, and 25 questions in 17 minutes on Level 2. Exam mode uses the Level 1 numbers.
Brackets for underlines
The real test marks four parts of a sentence. Here they sit in [square brackets], and the four choices repeat them in order.
- The ETS handbook says a wrong answer carries no penalty on the TOEFL ITP, so answer every question.
Questions and answers
Is this TOEFL ITP practice test the real exam?
No. The sentences and questions were written for this site from ETS's description of Section 2. None repeats or rewords a real test question or an ETS sample question, and a result here is not a forecast of your score.
Is this TOEFL ITP practice test free?
Yes. All 60 questions, their explanations, exam mode and the printed test are free, with no sign-up. Your answers stay in this browser.
What is on the TOEFL ITP test?
ETS lists three multiple-choice sections on Levels 1 and 2: Listening Comprehension, Structure and Written Expression, and Reading Comprehension. Level 1 has 140 questions in 115 minutes. This ITP TOEFL practice test covers the second section only.
How is the TOEFL ITP scored?
ETS converts the number of correct answers in each section to a scaled score: 31 to 68 for Structure and Written Expression on Level 1, and 310 to 677 in total. This page reports the number right and estimates no scaled score.
Can I print TOEFL ITP practice tests?
Yes. After a round, Print lays the questions out on paper, and one tick adds the answer key. For a file, pick Save as PDF in the print window.
