Where Michigan comes in

Objective 007 is Michigan history, and objective 016 names the state's own government. Here: the surrender of Detroit in the War of 1812, the Erie Canal, the Soo Locks and the Seaway in order, the first moving assembly line, the initiative and the governor's veto in the state constitution, and Michigan's standard for stating a public policy question.

  • Geography is the largest subarea, more than a quarter of the test: map scale and projections, physical systems, human systems and both hemispheres.
  • Objectives 002 to 019 each end with teaching: instructional strategies, assessing what students understand, and professional standards. Expect classroom scenarios.
