Questions and answers
How many questions are on the FTCE Speech-Language Impaired K-12 test?
Approximately 80, all multiple choice, with 2 hours 30 minutes of testing time. The FTCE site says a test may also carry questions on trial for later use, and those do not count toward the score.
What is the passing score for the FTCE speech-language test?
A scaled score of at least 200. That scale is not a percent or a count of right answers, so the timed exam here shows how many you got right, with no pass or fail.
Does the FTCE speech-language test cover swallowing?
Yes. The current outline, copyright 2022, names swallowing in the titles of two of its five competencies and in the skills of two more. The questions here ask the phases of a swallow and who leads a school's feeding and swallowing team.
Is there a free study guide for the FTCE Speech-Language Impaired test?
Yes: the test information guide on the FTCE site. Its competencies and skills page lists what each of the five competencies measures, and its bibliography names textbooks, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Florida Department of Education.
