This free FELE practice test covers both multiple-choice subtests of the Florida Educational Leadership Examination: 50 questions of our own, each citing its law or rule. It is unofficial and not affiliated with the Florida Department of Education or Pearson.

Read the full guide

Four subtests, two of them multiple choice

Subtest 1 is Foundational Policies and Practices of School Leadership; Subtest 2 is Leadership Practices for Student Learning. Subtest 3, Leadership Development, and Subtest 4, Leadership Communication, are each one written performance assessment and are not practised here.

What the two subtests weigh

Subtest 1: laws and best practices about 25%, resources and fiscal management 25%, school operations 30%, and data-driven decisions for the vision and mission 20%. Subtest 2: five competencies at 20% each, from student achievement results to recruiting and keeping faculty. The bank holds 25 questions for each subtest.

Timing

Exam mode asks all 50 questions in 1 hour 30 minutes, the length and time limit of one multiple-choice subtest.

  • Sixteen questions rest on Rule 6A-5.080, the Florida Educational Leadership Standards, which sets out eight standards for school administrators.
  • The statute questions were read in the 2026 Florida Statutes. Laws change, so open the link under a question before you rely on it.

Questions and answers

Is there a FELE practice test PDF?

A scaled score of at least 200 on Subtest 1 and on Subtest 2, at least 4 of 8 points on Subtest 3 and at least 5 of 8 on Subtest 4. All four subtests must be passed.

How long is the FELE?

1 hour 30 minutes for each multiple-choice subtest, 1 hour 15 minutes for Subtest 3 and 1 hour for Subtest 4. Each subtest is timed separately, and unused time does not carry over to the next.
