How this list was compiled: Own questions, written to the five domains and weights of CompTIA's Network+ exam N10-009 (version 9) as CompTIA publishes them at https://www.comptia.org/en-us/certifications/network/ (read 2026-10-06). Facts were read on 2026-10-06 in public texts: IETF RFCs on rfc-editor.org, the IANA Service Name and Transport Protocol Port Number Registry, ITU-T Recommendation X.200 (the OSI reference model), NIST Special Publications and the NIST glossary at csrc.nist.gov, CISA's page Securing Wireless Networks and the PCI Security Standards Council's PCI DSS page. Each question names the text and section it was written from and links to it. Licence: Own work. Every question, wrong choice and explanation was written for this site from the public texts named in each question. Nothing is copied or reworded from a CompTIA exam, a released or sample question, or another practice product.

How it works

This unofficial CompTIA Network+ practice test holds 105 of our own questions on the five domains of the current N10-009 objectives. It is not affiliated with CompTIA, and no question comes from the real exam.

What the Network Plus exam asks

CompTIA's page for exam N10-009 (version 9), read on October 6, 2026, weights five domains: networking concepts 23%, network implementation 20%, network operations 19%, network security 14% and network troubleshooting 24%.

What this bank leaves out

Every question is multiple choice, so the exam's performance-based tasks are not here. Neither are cabling facts that sit only in paid standards, such as connector types and cable distances.

  • Syslog severities run from 0 (Emergency) to 7 (Debug), so the lowest number is the most urgent (RFC 5424).
  • A 169.254.x.x address means the host configured itself. Look for the DHCP server first (RFC 3927).
  • Dynamic ports run from 49152 to 65535; registered ports stop at 49151 (RFC 6335).

Questions and answers

Is this a Network+ N10-007 practice test?

It follows N10-009, the only Network+ exam on CompTIA's page today, launched June 20, 2024. CompTIA's page offers neither N10-007 nor N10-006, so someone booking now studies the N10-009 objectives.

Can I get the CompTIA Network+ practice test as a PDF?

Yes. After a round, Print makes a question sheet of as many questions as you add, with an optional answer key that names each source. Choose Save as PDF in the print window.

How many questions are on the Network+ exam?

CompTIA gives a maximum of 90, multiple-choice and performance-based, in 90 minutes. Exam mode here draws 90 multiple-choice questions on the same clock and reports your percent right by domain.

What is the passing score for Network+ N10-009?

720 on a scale of 100 to 900, by CompTIA's page. A scaled score is not a percent, so no score on this page tells you whether you would pass.
