What the CLA assessment covers
MSSC's candidate handbook for the CLT 4.0 program, read at msscusa.org on October 12, 2026, weights nine areas: equipment 14%, computer systems 14%, quality control 12.5%, work communication 12.5%, teamwork 12.5%, the logistics environment 11%, safe handling of materials 10%, safety principles 7% and the supply chain life cycle 6.5%. The bank holds 11, 11, 10, 10, 10, 9, 8, 6 and 5 questions.
Where the facts come from
Safety answers come from OSHA standards and two OSHA booklets, hazard labels from 49 CFR, and security and emissions programs from CBP and EPA. Logistics, quality and teamwork terms come from the Wikipedia article named under each answer.
Timing
Exam mode asks 56 questions in 60 minutes with the real 70% pass mark, half the real length.
MSSC's handbook says to give the heavier areas more study time: start with equipment and computer systems.
Questions and answers
How many questions are on the Certified Logistics Associate test?
112 multiple-choice questions, and candidates are allowed 120 minutes, by MSSC's candidate handbook for the CLT 4.0 program (version 16.1, reviewed March 2026).
What is the passing score for the CLA?
70 percent, by the handbook. The second assessment of the program, the Certified Logistics Technician (CLT), needs 73 percent. A preliminary score report shows when the test is completed.
Is the CLA the same as the CLT?
No. The handbook describes two parts: the foundational Certified Logistics Associate certificate, then the mid-level technical Certified Logistics Technician certification. A candidate must hold the CLA certificate before sitting the CLT assessment.
How soon can you retake the CLA assessment?
Each time an assessment is not passed, the candidate must wait 15 days to retake it, by the handbook. The assessments come in English and Spanish.
Is there an official CLA practice test?
The handbook prints nine sample CLA questions and says they will not appear on the assessment, and MSSC's course portal holds practice tests for enrolled students. This page is a separate, unofficial bank, and none of its questions comes from MSSC.
