What the exam covers

The Commission's CCM Certification Guide, dated July 2026 and read October 9, 2026, lists six domains: care management 30%, reimbursement methods 12%, psychosocial concepts and support systems 20%, quality and outcomes 10%, rehabilitation concepts and strategies 10%, and ethical, legal and practice standards 18%. This bank holds 15, 6, 10, 5, 5 and 9.

Where the facts come from

Each answer names the public page it was read in: Medicare.gov, the Social Security Administration, the Commission's own Code of Professional Conduct and others. The Commission's reference books and glossary app were not used, so terms found only there are not asked.

Timing

Exam mode asks 40 questions in 40 minutes, the pace of the real exam: 180 questions in three hours.

  • Medicare dollar amounts change each year, so this bank asks the rules (days, percentages, who qualifies) and not the amounts.

Questions and answers

Is this a Certified Case Manager exam study guide?

It can serve as one for self-testing: every question names its domain and the public source of its answer. It is not the Commission's material, and no question comes from the real exam or its practice items.

How many questions are on the CCM exam?

180 multiple choice items in three hours. 150 are operational and 30 are pretest items that are not scored, by the Commission's Certification Guide.

Does the CCM exam have four answer choices?

Not always. The Commission says the exam is a blend of 3-answer and 4-answer multiple choice questions. Every question on this page has four choices.

What is the passing score for the CCM exam?

The Commission converts raw scores to scaled scores, so that every form of the exam asks for the same level of ability, and prints no raw pass mark. A preliminary pass or no pass shows on screen when the exam ends.

Can you retake the CCM exam?

Yes, while still within the initial eligibility. The Commission's exam guide says the retake has to be scheduled in the next exam cycle available.
