How this list was compiled: Our own questions. The topic list is the Calculus standards (1.0 to 27.0) in California Common Core State Standards: Mathematics, pages 116 and 117, California Department of Education, https://www.cde.ca.gov/be/st/ss/documents/ccssmathstandardaug2013.pdf, read 2026-10-07. Every answer is mathematics on the numbers and functions printed in the question: it is worked in the explanation, computed a second time, and each other choice is tested to be wrong (2026-10-07). Licence: Questions, choices and explanations are original work of this site.

How it works

This calculus practice test is unofficial: 60 questions of our own on limits, derivatives and integrals, each worked step by step. It is a course test, tied to no exam.

Five topics

Limits and continuity, derivatives, using derivatives, integrals, and using integrals: 12 questions each. The list follows the Calculus standards in California's mathematics standards, pages 116 and 117, read October 7, 2026. Sequences and series, standards 23 to 26, are not in this bank.

How the math is written

Whole-number powers are written raised, as in x² or (3x + 1)⁵; other exponents use a caret, as in e^(2x). √ is a square root, ln is the natural logarithm, and C is the constant of integration.

  • When a limit gives 0/0, try factoring or rationalizing before L'Hôpital's rule.
  • Differentiate your antiderivative to check it: you should get the integrand back.
  • In a rate problem, write the formula that links the quantities first, then differentiate with respect to time.

Questions and answers

Is there a printable calculus practice test PDF?

Yes. Print the question sheet puts 20 questions on paper, and Add all adds the rest of the 60, with the answer key if you tick it. Pick Save as PDF in the print window and you have the file.

What topics are on a calculus test?

A first course covers limits and continuity, derivatives and their uses, and integrals and their uses. California's standards also list series and differential equations, and note that many high school programs cannot cover everything in one year.

Do I need a calculator for this calculus practice test?

No. Every answer comes out by hand as a whole number, a fraction, a short decimal or an expression. Your own class test may allow a calculator; your teacher decides.
