Seven topics and their weights
The College Board's College Mathematics outline, read October 6, 2026, lists algebra and functions (20%), counting and probability (10%), data analysis and statistics (15%), financial mathematics (20%), geometry (10%), logic and sets (15%) and numbers (10%). This bank holds that many questions on each.
Timing
The real exam gives 90 minutes for about 60 questions, some of them unscored pretest questions. Exam mode uses the same 60 and 90.
Standard deviation and the normal distribution are tested by concept only, the outline says. Learn what they mean before any formula.
A scientific calculator is built into the exam software, so practice with a nongraphing one.
Questions and answers
Is this CLEP mathematics practice test official?
No. Every question is our own, written to the College Board's published outline. None is copied or reworded from a real exam or an official sample question, and no score on the real exam is implied.
Is there a CLEP math practice test PDF?
Yes. Print the question sheet makes a paper test of these questions, with an answer key if you tick it. Save as PDF in the print window keeps it as a college mathematics CLEP practice test PDF.
How many credits is the CLEP College Mathematics exam worth?
The American Council on Education recommends 3 semester hours for a score of 50 on the 20 to 80 scale. Each college sets its own credit policy, so ask yours before you register.
Is a college math CLEP practice test the same as College Algebra?
No. College Mathematics is the general exam for nonmathematics majors, with algebra as one topic in seven. Algebra alone has its own exam and its own CLEP College Algebra practice test.
