How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the TSIA2 Mathematics Test Specifications (Version 1.4), prepared for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board by College Board (https://reportcenter.highered.texas.gov/training-materials/tsia2-math-test-specifications-v1-4/, linked from https://www.highered.texas.gov/texas-success-initiative/, both read 2026-10-12): four content categories and their subcategories, and a College Readiness Classification test of 20 questions (6 Quantitative Reasoning, 7 Algebraic Reasoning, 3 Geometric and Spatial Reasoning, 4 Probabilistic and Statistical Reasoning). The bank keeps those shares: 24, 28, 12 and 16. Five questions cover subcategories the specifications mark as Diagnostic Test only, and each says so. Every answer is arithmetic, algebra or geometry on what the question itself prints, and each was worked out a second time from the numbers the question prints, on 2026-10-12. Three definitions (supplementary angles, categorical data, the circle graph) were read at Wikipedia on 2026-10-12. Licence: Questions, choices and explanations are original work of this site.

What the real test asks

The TSIA2 Mathematics Test Specifications, read October 12, 2026, give the College Readiness Classification (CRC) test 20 multiple-choice questions: 6 on quantitative reasoning, 7 on algebraic reasoning, 3 on geometric and spatial reasoning and 4 on probabilistic and statistical reasoning. This bank keeps those shares: 24, 28, 12 and 16.

Scores

The CRC test is untimed, computer adaptive and scored from 910 to 990. A score under the college readiness benchmark leads to a 48-question Diagnostic Test, 12 questions per area. Exam mode here asks 20 questions with no clock.

Reading the notation

Powers are written x² or x¹⁰, and other exponents use a caret, as in 8^(2/3). √ means a square root, and π is left as a symbol.

  • You may retake the TSIA2 at any time. The testing center at your college has the details.

Questions and answers

Is there a printable TSI math practice test?

Yes. Print the question sheet puts 20 questions on paper in the shares of the real test: 6, 7, 3 and 4 by content area. Tick With answer key to add the answers with their working, and choose Save as PDF to keep the file.

What math is on the TSI test?

Four areas. Quantitative reasoning: ratios, percents and linear expressions. Algebraic reasoning: linear, quadratic and exponential equations and functions. Geometric and spatial reasoning: measurement, transformations and right triangles. Probabilistic and statistical reasoning: probability, center and spread, and data displays.

What is a passing score on the TSI math test?

Nobody passes or fails. The state’s score brochure counts 950 to 990 on the CRC test as college ready in mathematics, and also a CRC score below 950 with a Diagnostic Test level of 6.

Can you use a calculator on the TSI math test?

Not your own. The student brochure says handheld calculators are not permitted on the online test. Some questions offer a pop-up calculator: basic, square root or graphing.
