How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the competency list of the Foundational Credential Blueprint for Health Informatics (code 1387, version 01, copyright 2017) that NOCTI publishes at https://www.nocti.org/wp-content/uploads/Blueprints/FoundHealthInfo1387.pdf , read 2026-10-13: a written assessment of 104 questions in 2 hours over eleven areas (General Health Science Technical Skills 17%; Academic Foundations 11%; Systems 7%; Ethics and Legal Responsibilities 7%; Communications 9%; Information Technology Applications 6%; Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, and Decision Making 6%; Leadership and Teamwork 6%; Safety, Health, and Environmental 9%; Employability and Career Development 6%; Health Informatics 16%). A Foundational assessment has a written part only. This bank holds 46 in those proportions. Every fact in a question and its explanation was read on 2026-10-13 on the public page named under it: the HIPAA rules in 45 CFR Parts 160 and 164 on ecfr.gov, pages of CMS, the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics, HealthIT.gov, HealthCare.gov, AHRQ and the National Library of Medicine, the OSHA bloodborne pathogens standard, Nursing Assistant, an Open RN textbook published by WisTech Open under a Creative Commons BY 4.0 license, and Wikipedia. Every count in a sum is made up for the drill, and each computed answer was worked twice. Licence: Questions, choices and explanations are original work of this site. The open textbook is used for facts only, and no text, table or example is copied from it.
