Where the questions come from
The bulletin's reference list: O.C.G.A. Title 43, Chapter 38, Board Rules Chapter 509, and sections of Titles 16, 17 and 24 on eavesdropping, stalking, detention, evidence and confessions. Each answer names its section.
What is left out
The examination may also ask trade knowledge from two commercial handbooks. Nothing here is taken from them, so investigative technique is not asked.
- Recording activities in a private place, out of public view, needs consent of all persons observed (O.C.G.A. § 16-11-62).
- A confession must be voluntary, with no hope of benefit or fear of injury induced by another (O.C.G.A. § 24-8-824).
- A client who asks gets a written report within 30 days after the investigation ends, with an accounting of fees (Board Rule 509-4-.06).
