Questions and answers

Is this OAE Reading practice test free?

Yes, with no sign-up. Every question was written for this site from the two published frameworks, and each explanation names the public page its answer rests on. Nothing is taken from the real subtests or their sample questions.

Is OAE Reading (038/039) the same test as Foundations of Reading (190)?

No. The program lists Foundations of Reading (190) as a separate test, which its table requires for several teaching licenses. Reading (Subtests I and II) is the content assessment for the Reading (K–12) endorsement.

What is the passing score for the OAE Reading subtests?

220 on each subtest, where scores run from 100 to 300. Candidates must take and pass both subtests, and the multiple-choice score is combined with the scores on the written assignments.

Can I take both OAE Reading subtests on the same day?

At a test center, yes: one or both subtests at one appointment. With an online proctor only one subtest can be taken in a session, and no breaks are allowed.
