How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the published test framework for NES test 103, Elementary Education Subtest II, read 2026-10-08 on the program site of the National Evaluation Series (test page https://www.nestest.com/test/103; overview and competencies https://www.nestest.com/prepare/103; framework https://www.nestest.com/static/docs/NES_Framework_103.pdf): 75 multiple-choice questions; Mathematics 50% of the test score, Science 38%, The Arts, Health, and Fitness 12%. The bank holds 30 mathematics, 23 science and 7 arts and fitness questions, the same proportions. Every mathematics answer was worked twice, and each names the Common Core standard it practices (thecorestandards.org). Every science, arts and fitness fact was read on 2026-10-08 in the public page the question names: the National Human Genome Research Institute glossary, the USDA Forest Service, NOAA, NASA, the U.S. Geological Survey, the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the Understanding Science and Understanding Evolution sites of the UC Museum of Paleontology, the National Center for Education Statistics, two Getty Museum education sheets, the National Core Arts Standards music glossary, the SHAPE America grade-level outcomes and the federal Physical Activity Guidelines. The health topics of competency 0008 (diseases, treatment, nutrition) are left out. Licence: Questions, choices and explanations are original work of this site.

What Subtest II covers
On Elementary Education Subtest II, test 103, Mathematics is 50% of the score, Science 38%, and The Arts, Health, and Fitness 12%, by the framework read October 8, 2026. The bank keeps those proportions.
Timing
Exam mode asks all 60 questions in 84 minutes, the pace of the real subtest.
Where the answers come from
Every mathematics answer is worked twice and names the Common Core standard it practices. Science explanations name a page of NASA, NOAA, the U.S. Geological Survey or the National Human Genome Research Institute. Health topics are left out.
The test page lists no reference materials, so memorize the triangle area, prism volume and Pythagorean formulas.
Mathematics is half the score. Filter to that topic first when study time is short.
Questions and answers
Is this NES Subtest 2 practice test the real exam?
No. All 60 questions were written for this site from the published framework and public sources. None repeats or rewords a real question, a sample question or the paid practice test, and a result here is not a forecast of your score.
Which NES test is Subtest 2?
Several NES tests have a Subtest II. This page is Elementary Education Subtest II, test 103. Essential Academic Skills Subtest II is a writing test and is not covered here.
How many questions are on NES Elementary Education Subtest II?
75 multiple-choice questions in 1 hour 45 minutes of testing time, plus 15 minutes for a tutorial and nondisclosure agreement. The test is given at test centers and with an online proctor.
What is the passing score for NES Subtest II?
The national benchmark is a scaled score of 220, and each state may set its own passing score. The test page points candidates in Arizona, Oregon and Washington to theirs. This page reports the number right only.
Is test 111 the same as test 103?
No. The program site also lists a newer Elementary Education Subtest II, test 111, on a framework dated May 2023: Mathematics 43%, Science 43%, and The Arts, Health, and Fitness 14%. This page follows test 103.
