How this list was compiled: Our own questions, written to the objectives of the GACE Special Education Academic Content Concentrations (Language Arts and Social Science) (P–8) assessment, test code 744, as its Assessment Design and Framework prints them on the GACE website of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and Evaluation Systems, Pearson (https://www.gace.es.pearson.com/studyguide/framework/744 and https://www.gace.es.pearson.com/test/744, read 2026-10-15): two testlets of 30 selected-response questions (412 Language Arts Concentration (P–8), 60 minutes; 413 Social Studies Concentration (P–8), 45 minutes), each with three objectives of a third. This bank holds 24 for each testlet, eight for each objective. Every fact was read on 2026-10-15 on the page named under its question: the Purdue Online Writing Lab, the Writing Center of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Academy of American Poets glossary, the Common Core writing standards, the New Georgia Encyclopedia, the U.S. National Archives, the National Park Service, NOAA, the U.S. Geological Survey, National Geographic Education and Wikipedia articles. The three answers that are worked from figures in the question (a map scale, a map grid, an opportunity cost) were each worked a second time. Reading is no longer on this test
On July 1, 2026, test 744 replaced test 732, Special Education Academic Content Concentrations (Reading, Language Arts, and Social Science). The Commission's notice of June 2, 2026 says the Reading testlet (411) is no longer offered.
Two testlets
Language Arts Concentration (412) has 30 questions in 60 minutes, and Social Studies Concentration (413) has 30 in 45 minutes. Each has three objectives worth a third. This bank holds 24 for each testlet, eight per objective.
The clock
A timed run gives 84 minutes for the 48 questions: two minutes for each language arts question and a minute and a half for each social studies question, as on the real clocks.
The social studies questions lean on Georgia: its first constitution, the Muscogee, Sequoyah and John Lewis.
Questions and answers
Is reading still on the GACE special education reading, English language arts and social studies test?
No. Test 732, the assessment with the reading testlet, was last given on June 28, 2026, and the Commission says those who passed it are unaffected. Its successor, test 744, has a language arts testlet and a social studies testlet only.
Is there a GACE practice test for ELA, special education social studies and reading?
This page covers two of the three subjects: 48 unofficial questions on the language arts and social studies testlets of test 744. Reading questions are on our GACE Reading practice test, which follows test 418.
Where is the GACE 087 study guide for special education reading, English language skills and social studies?
Code 087 is not on the current GACE list. The assessment for these concentrations is test 744, and the study guide on the GACE website is organized by the same two testlets as the questions on this page.
How many questions are on GACE test 744, and what score passes?
It has 60 selected-response questions and 1 hour 45 minutes of testing time. Passing takes at least 220 as a cumulative score and each testlet's floor. The two testlets count 50% each.
